   A HIGHLY PRACTICAL COURSE

   The course includes all the elements of highly effective teaching and learning methods.It is a practical course of 220 total hours consisting of lectures, workshops and practical hands-on teaching.This includes observation of ESL teachers and practice teaching with ESL students at various levels of English.

   TOPICS include:

   Second Language Acquisition Introduction to Linguistics
   The principles of language learning and teaching
   Learning styles
   Assessment and Evaluation Planning and conducting English language classes
   Teaching grammar effectively
   Developing effective and up-to-date teaching materials with minimal resources
   Classroom management
   Designing a curriculum and syllabus
   Multi-cultural and cross-cultural aspects of the ESL classroom


   QUALIFIED AND DEDICATED STAFF, TEACHERS AND DIRECTORS

   All staff, teachers and directors at Sea English Academy International are fully qualified with years of real field experience in the ESL classroom. After graduation, we provide support with on-going networking and job assistance.


   WHO SHOULD APPLY?

  This course is designed for anyone wanting to teach English in South Africa or overseas. You do not need a tertiary qualification nor be a native English speaker. There are no course prerequisites, however, applicants must provide evidence of an ability to undertake studies at an appropriate tertiary level in English. If an applicant has not reached an appropriate level of English language they are encouraged to undertake an English language program within the Sea English Academy International, or similar institution, to assist them to attain an appropriate level of English.


   QUALIFICATION

   Australian Recognised Accredited Course Number: 30338QLD. Certificate IV in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages trainees who successfully demonstrate competency in all units of the Certificate IV in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages will be issued with a Certificate of Qualification by Sea English Academy International.

   While there is no accrediting body with the role of granting worldwide official recognition to any teaching certificate, the Sea English Academy International Certificate in TESOL is widely known and respected overseas.


   SCHOOL FEES

   Food, lodging, and tuition costs as follows (based on the Per Capita Income of the nation in which the student has citizenship):
   Category A: First World Nations, e.g. the North American, European Union, and Australasian (including Japan) nations will pay R5500 (Five thousand, five hundred Rand)
   Category B: Second World nations, e.g. the G 22 group (including Nigeria, South Africa, Russia, Malaysia, Brazil, Korea etc.) will pay R4500 (Four thousand, five hundred Rand)
   Category C: Third World nations, e.g. India, Malawi, Kenya, Ghana and South Africans coming from a third world environment (previously disadvantaged communities) will pay R2400 (two thousand, four hundred Rand).

   Registration fee --R1000 (balance to be paid by the second week).
